The Joy School project includes a 12,000 SF, one-story building and a 1,000 SF addition to an existing two-story building for the campus. The project is located in the Museum district and serves children with learning differences and special needs. The Joy School is a non-sectarian, independent, nonprofit day school focused on meeting the unique needs of students who, although intellectually capable, have difficulty finding success in a traditional school environment. The Joy School prepares students to return to traditional classroom settings by enabling them to reach their academic and social potential in a safe, supportive environment. Project site improvements include expanding existing parking areas, a new stormwater detention pond and utility work. The new one-story building includes offices, meeting rooms and a multi-purpose room. The building exterior is composed of curtainwall, stone, stucco, metal panel soffits and TPO roofing system.
